Ukrainian Drone Campaign Triggers Fuel Crisis in Russian-Occupied Crimea
Ukrainian forces have stepped up their "logistics lockdown" through the use of drones powered by AI and precision attacks on key bridges, which have led to an acute shortage of fuel and electricity in the areas of Russian-occupied Crimea. After the issuance of a directive from the Kremlin-sponsored head Sergei Aksyonov, sale of fuel in public gas stations is banned, allowing fuel to be used exclusively by governmental agencies and army units. This has caused disruption in daily life activities in large towns such as Sevastopol, as businesses have been limited to daytime transactions amid a state of panic buying and sharp rise in fuel costs, coupled with the shutting down of children summer camps. Furthermore, through the constant destruction of critical logistical routes like the Chonhar bridges and the M14 highway, Ukrainians have expanded the issue to the areas of Russian-occupied eastern regions, like Donetsk, where there is already an acute problem of water shortage.
